As a company, Axfood generally avoids taking a stance on political issues. However, Axfood sometimes chooses to voice its opinion on certain business policies relating to Sweden. Axfood follows the advice of the UN or the Swedish government on emergency situations beyond Sweden’s borders.
Axfood’s actions may, nevertheless, be interpreted as political without there being any such intention behind our conduct, for example with regard to purchases of food products or fruit and vegetables from countries that may be seen as controversial.
By always stating the country of origin on our vegetable displays and on food products, consumers can decide whether they wish to make a politically motivated purchasing decision of their own.
