Axfood’s logistics company Dagab has received two environmental awards on the same day. The ‘Climate Comet of the Year’ award recognises Dagab’s environmental work on transport. On top of that, Dagab has also won Haninge Municipality’s annual eco-award.
The ‘Climate Comet of the Year’ award is given by Green Cargo to a company that has made major improvements to the climate impact of its logistics.
The award was accepted by Axfood’s Head of Environmental Affairs, Åsa Domeij, and Transport Manager Anders Endertorp from Dagab at a seminar on Sustainable Logistics in Stockholm recently.
“It’s great to see Dagab receiving this recognition of its active climate work. This will spur Dagab to keep going and help Axfood achieve its goal of reducing the environmental impact of its activities by 75 percent by 2020,” comments Åsa Domeij.

Dagab works actively on environmental issues across all of its operations. A switch to renewable energy, including wind turbines on the warehouse roofs, and a focus on recycling are just some of the reasons for the awards. Dagab’s drivers also apply eco-driving in trucks that run on diesel made partly from tall oil, a by-product of the pulp industry.
“Haninge Municipality’s environmental award means a great deal to Dagab, as we continue our commitment to developing eco-aware measures,” says Lars Hellström, environmental coordinator at Dagab.
