Hemköp reached its target of 300,000 loyalty cards

Just over 300,000 customers have chosen to take up Hemköp’s loyalty card. Hemköp thus achieved its target for cardholding customers in 2009.

“Reaching our target last year shows that our loyalty card is attractive to many customers. It is incredibly important for us to build up loyalty through our loyalty card, so we will be continuing to develop the card offers and activities relating to the card. Loyalty cardholders need to feel that they are important to us and that their loyalty is rewarded,” comments Jesper Sandell, who is in charge of the loyalty card at Hemköp.

Alongside a bonus of up to two percent, Hemköp cardholders also enjoy special offers, invitations to in-store activities and personalised information from their own local store.

Hemköp’s loyalty card can also be linked to a partnership with SOS Children’s Villages. This involves the customer donating SEK 0.1 to the charity for every SEK 100 of purchases made using the card.

Facts about Hemköp’s loyalty card:

The loyalty card has been around since 2007 and comes in three versions: as an ordinary reward card, as a Visa payment card and as a specific corporate card. Hemköp’s Visa card has no annual fee and provides up to 45 days’ credit. All holders of the Visa card also receive a 0.5 percent bonus on all purchases outside of Hemköp’s stores. The loyalty card also allows the holder to make cash withdrawals of up to SEK 500 at the store checkout free of charge.
