The project “I want to join in” tackles the issue of discrimination and assault in sport for children and young people in Sweden.
Staff from Save the Children have embarked on a nationwide tour of Swedish sports clubs to pass on tools for uncovering and combating discrimination. The work is split into three stages, where the current situation at the club is analysed and a number of different scenarios are debated, before goals are set up and an action plan put together.
The project is supported by Axfood and Skandia. Axfood also supports Save the Children’s education work in Ivory Coast and donates aid when disasters such as the famine in East Africa strike.
