Willys helps customers to make sustainable choices

The Enkla Vägen (Easy Way) label marked the first step in making it simpler for consumers to make sustainable choices. Now Willys is taking things further with new environmental guides on the shelf edges.

Is it as good for the environment to choose organic rice as it is to go for organic potatoes? Does KRAV labelled organic pork affect the climate as much as KRAV organic beef? And is it good to choose organic apples if they are imported from South America? Even when you choose organic and ecolabelled products, it is not always easy to know what is the best choice for the climate and the environment.

Simpler for customers

Now it is simpler for customers to make sustainable choices. In partnership with environmental consultant Staffan Lindberg and the Swedish Society for Nature Conservation, Willys has drawn up environmental signs that give customers advice on how to shop in a way that is kinder to the climate and the environment.

Strengthening Willys’ green credentials

The environmental signs arrived in Willys stores this month. The environmental ambassadors are responsible for making sure that the signs are put up around their stores over the next few weeks. The 70 or so signs that have been produced will be placed on the shelf edge next to the relevant product on the shelf.
