EDI

Why EDI?

EDI, Electronic Data Interchange, is a way of electronically exchanging messages between several data systems. Axfood uses EDI with its suppliers to receive Trade Item Declarations, manage orders and receive invoices. Together with GS1 Sweden and other food retailers, Axfood has developed a standardised business flow for e-commerce, ESAP20. This standard is based on a more general standard, ESAP, which is used in several different industries. For more information about ESAP and ESAP20, visit GS1’s website.

Axfood’s EDI requirement

All goods suppliers must use electronic communication via EDI in their commercial dealings with Axfood. All EDI messages must meet the industry standard ESAP20.
